Administrator’s Message

Welcome to PVCS. We are so
glad you are thinking about enrolling your child in
PVCS. It’s probably a prejudiced statement, but we
think you have made an excellent choice. To help
you better understand us, let me tell you a few
things about us.
-
Non-Discriminatory
Statement
PVCS does not discriminate on
the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin
in the administration of its educational policies,
admissions policies, scholarship programs, athletic
and/or other school related programs.
PVCS is an asbestos free
facility.
PVCS is accredited by the
Tennessee Association of Christian Schools (TACS)
which is an approved body by the Tennessee
Legislature (T.C.A. 49-50-801, March 11, 1976).
PVCS is officially recognized
as tax exempt by the Internal Revenue Service under
section 501-C (3).
The Tennessee Association of
Christian Schools is recognized by the Tennessee
State Board of Education. PVCS is fully accredited,
thus giving students full benefits afforded their
peers in public schools. PVCS is approved by the
both the Tennessee State Department of Education and
the Tennessee Association of Christian Schools.
As a parent of one, or more,
of our students, you will be asked to sign a
Statement of Cooperation. You will be asked not to
do anything by word or deed that could be
detrimental to PVCS or its ministry. If the
administration of the school determines that a
parent has broken this agreement, you may be asked
to withdraw your child from PVCS.
How do you go about enrolling
a student in PVCS? If you are transferring from
another school, records from that school will be
sent to us as well as other pertinent data. There
are several steps to follow: They are:
-
Submit an application
with the appropriate registration fee. An
application is provided for you on this web
site.
-
Read the PVCS Handbook
that will be provided for you.
-
Schedule an interview
with the appropriate School Administrator.
-
Take an entrance test,
if it is required. There is a
non-refundable fee for this test.
-
Acquire transcripts
from a previous school.
-
You will be notified
by phone, letter, or email of the acceptance
status.
-
Immunization and
Health Record
-
All students are
required to be legally immunized. A
completed School Certification Form
for Immunizations signed by the
health provider is required as a part of
each student’s permanent record.
-
As of 2001-2002,
proof of a second dose of MMR vaccine,
or its separate components, is required
for all grades.
-
As of July 1999,
proof of adequate immunization against
Hepatitis B will be required prior to
entry into kindergarten.
-
As of 2002-2003,
proof of immunity of Hepatitis B will be
required for entry into the 7th
grade.
A student is not considered
enrolled at PVCS until the registration fee is
paid. A place cannot be reserved for students until
the registration fee is paid. The registration fee
is not refundable and non-transferable. If
room is not available, a child’s name will be placed
on a waiting list.
Current tuition fees and
policies are available upon request from the office
as well as being posted on this web site. Students
withdrawing from PVCS will owe the balance of their
account up to the day of withdrawal on a pro-rated
basis.
There are three options you
have to pay your tuition account. They are:
-
Enroll in the tuition
management program known as F.A.C.T.S. This
is a program where your financial account
will be drafted each month directly to PVCS.
-
Pay the full school
year in one payment, or pay it in two
payments, one payment at the beginning of
each semester.
-
Provide post dated
checks that will be deposited only on the
date listed on the check.
The office staff will be more
than glad to assist you in either of these payment
methods. It is imperative, however, that you choose
one of these three methods and that the tuition
account be current. Any account that becomes
delinquent could cause your child to be dismissed
from school.
There so much more to tell you
about PVCS, but the above will give you an idea. To
learn more, come to see us. We’ll show you around
the school and answer other questions you may have.
Thanks for considering PVCS.
Sincerely,
Ken Riggs,
